Our Mission

The primary purpose of Sunshine Acres is to provide a Christian camp experience for young children between the ages of 8 and 12. By teaching them to develop a personal relationship with Jesus Christ, they gain a fuller awareness of God and how to incorporate Him into their daily lives.

Sunshine Acres is an independent Baptist union supported by various churches in the New York Metropolitan area. We have been providing camping experiences for underprivileged children from these areas since 1909.

Campers are chosen by supporting Church representatives.  Children in need of financial assistance may request a sponsorship from their Member Church.

Young People’s Baptist Union

The YPBU is a Union of approximately 20 Churches that work together to run a Christian Summer Camp for children.  Any child who wishes to attend must be recommended by a Member Church.

We also run a Retreat Center during the Spring, Fall and Winter that is called the 3 Seasons Program.
