Sunshine Acres is accepting applications to fill staff positions for the summer camping program.

Ministry Purpose

Sunshine Acres has operated consistently since 1901 with the same ministry purpose; to use the camp as an opportunity to provide a quality camping experience with the message of Christ to needy children.  Most of these children are able to attend the summer camp program for free due to the gifts of individuals and supporting churches.  For 8-10 days (per summer session) the children are given the message of Christ through words, music and skits. 

Each day is full of activities and opportunities for the counselors to seek the spiritual needs of the campers.  (Morning Chapel, Chapel reviews throughout the day, devotions at night, as well as many other teachable moments.)  In the end we hope to reach the campers’ hearts.

A Special Kind of Staff

The most important part of a successful summer is a quality staff.  They need to have a strong love for Christ and children, be ministry minded, and have a heart to serve others as a team.  For nearly eight weeks you will live and work with your fellow staff members toward a common purpose.  They will become more than just co-workers, they will become family.

The summer will also challenge you in ways you never imagined.  Every year we hear testimonies of staff that have left with far more than an employment experience.
